Sovereign Climate Strategy
Translating national commitments and development priorities into a clear, prioritised climate roadmap that the state can own and steer.

Our expertise
Our expertise covers the strategic, institutional and partnership dimensions of climate programmes. Forests remain our signature; yet our scope spans every major stream of climate action — renewable energy, industrial and building energy efficiency, clean cooking and water access, waste and biogas, agroforestry, blue carbon and technology-based carbon removal. Where specialised requirements arise — certification, validation, MRV, scientific studies or technical development — GCP mobilises the appropriate specialist partners rather than substituting itself for them.
Translating national commitments and development priorities into a clear, prioritised climate roadmap that the state can own and steer.
GCP proactively coordinates, facilitates, and supports high-level institutional dialogue with host Governments and Designated National Authorities (DNAs) to assist in securing sovereign Letters of Approval (LoA) and Corresponding Adjustments under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
Valuing forests, mangroves, savannahs and degraded ecosystems — alongside agroforestry, regenerative agriculture and blue carbon — through conservation and restoration programmes of high environmental integrity.
Identifying relevant public, private and blended sources of finance, and facilitating dialogue with investors and financial institutions.
Building durable relationships between states, international organisations, developers and technical actors within clear cooperation frameworks.
Bringing credible programmes to life across every sector — from ecosystems to renewable energy, from clean cooking and water access to waste treatment and technology-based carbon removal — from identifying priority areas to mobilising capable development teams.
Institutional Origination & Governance Bridge: GCP focuses strictly on climate diplomacy, sovereign origination, intergovernmental alignment, and community consensus. Technical carbon accounting, baseline modelling, MRV execution, and standard methodology certifications remain under the operational purview of world-class technical developers (such as FORLIANCE and South Pole).

For every sovereign mandate, GCP mobilises a consortium of world-class international technical operators: forestry engineers, independent MRV auditors and indexed commercialisation structures. The methodological integrity of programmes rests on clearly identified trusted third parties and recognised global frameworks.
Roles & trusted third parties
Led by GCP: institutional dialogue, parliamentary engagement, sovereign pipeline origination and community alignment.
Delivered by international technical developers: baseline modelling, forest inventories, MRV protocols and methodological certification.
Conducted by accredited VVB entities: validation, independent verification and assurance of result integrity.
